Cookie Policy

CodigoMorse.io uses a handful of cookies: a few that keep the site fast and secure, one that remembers your language, and the Google Analytics cookies that tell us which pages are being read. Here is each one and how to control it.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser so it can recognize the same browser on a later request. Cookies can be first-party (set by codigomorse.io) or third-party (set by another domain, such as Google), and session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent ones (kept until they expire). Browsers also offer similar storage (localStorage); our tools do not need it to work.

Cookies we use

pll_languagePolylang (first-party)Remembers the language you last used (English, Spanish or Portuguese) so links and redirects send you to the right edition.Functional1 year
_lscache_varyLiteSpeed Cache (first-party)Tells the cache which version of a page to serve. It is only set in situations where a page cannot be cached for everyone, such as after a login; ordinary visitors normally never receive it.EssentialSession

Advertising shown on the site may be served by third-party networks that set their own cookies under their own policies; their names depend on the network and your region. These are not required for any feature of the site.

Why we use them

  • Essential and security cookies keep the site fast and protect it from abuse. They cannot be switched off from our side, but they never identify you personally.
  • The language cookie is a convenience: without it, the site still works, but it may not remember that you prefer English.
  • Analytics cookies help us see which tools and guides are useful, which devices people use and where the site is slow. We only look at aggregated reports.

What the tools do not need

The translator, decoder, audio player and the other tools do not use cookies at all. They run in your browser, and blocking every cookie on the site will not stop them from working. The only effect of blocking the functional cookie is that the site may not remember your language choice between visits.

How to control cookies

In your browser

Every modern browser lets you view, delete and block cookies, for one site or for all sites. Look for "Cookies and site data" in the privacy settings of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge. You can also open a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when it closes.

Google Analytics

Install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, or block _ga and _ga_* in your browser or with a content blocker. Our site will not behave any differently.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We do not sell personal data, so there is nothing to opt out of in that sense. Analytics is the only non-essential category we use, and the methods above disable it fully.

Changes and contact

If we add or remove a cookie, this table will be updated and the "last updated" date at the top will change. Questions about cookies or data can be sent to [email protected]. Read the privacy policy for the full picture of what we collect.

FAQ

Quick answers

The caching and security cookies set by LiteSpeed Cache and Cloudflare. They keep the site fast and protect it from automated abuse and contain no personal data.

Does the site use advertising cookies?

If ads are shown, the advertising network may set its own cookies under its own policy. They are not needed for any feature of the site and can be blocked.

How do I turn off Google Analytics?

Use Google's opt-out browser add-on or block the _ga cookies. The site works exactly the same without them.
